3. Hutan Rawa
Hutan rawa adalah hutan yang berada di daerah berawa dengan tumbuhan nipah tumbuh di hutan rawa. Contoh : Papua selatan, Kalimantan, dsb.

4. Hutan Hujan Tropis
Hutan hujan tropis adalah hutan lebat / hutan rimba belantara yang tumbuh di sekitar garis khatulistiwa / ukuator yang memiliki curah turun hujan yang sangat tinggi. Hutan jenis yang satu ini memiliki tingkat kelembapan yang tinggi, bertanah subur, humus tinggi dan basah serta sulit untuk dimasuki oleh manusia. Hutan ini sangat disukai pembalak hutan liar dan juga pembalak legal jahat yang senang merusak hutan dan merugikan negara trilyunan rupiah. Contoh : hutan kalimantan, hutan sumatera, dsb.

5. Hutan Musim
Hutan musim adalah hutan dengan curah hujan tinggi namun punya periode musim kemarau yang panjang yang menggugurkan daun di kala kemarau menyelimuti hutan. Di samping itu hutan terbagi / dibagi berdasarkan fungsinya, yaitu :

1. Hutan Wisata
Hutan wisata adalah hutan yang dijadikan suaka alam yang ditujukan untuk melindungi tumbuh-tumbuhan serta hewan / binatang langka agar tidak musnah / punah di masa depan. Hutan suaka alam dilarang untuk ditebang dan diganggu dialih fungsi sebagai buka hutan. Biasanya hutan wisata menjadi tempat rekreasi orang dan tempat penelitian.

2. Hutan Cadangan
Hutan cadangan merupakan hutan yang dijadikan sebagai lahan pertanian dan pemukiman penduduk. Di pulau jawa terdapat sekitar 20 juta hektar hutan cadangan.

3. Hutan Lindung
Hutan lindung adalah hutan yang difungsikan sebagai penjaga ketaraturan air dalam tanah (fungsi hidrolisis), menjaga tanah agar tidak terjadi erosi serta untuk mengatur iklim (fungsi klimatologis) sebagai penanggulang pencematan udara seperti C02 (karbon dioksida) dan C0 (karbon monoksida). Hutan lindung sangat dilindungi dari perusakan penebangan hutan membabibuta yang umumnya terdapat di sekitar lereng dan bibir pantai.

4. Hutan Produksi / Hutan Industri
Hutan produksi yaitu adalah hutan yang dapat dikelola untuk menghasilkan sesuatu yang bernilai ekonomi. Hutan produksi dapat dikategorikan menjadi dua golongan yakni hutan rimba dan hutan budidaya. Hutan rimba adalah hutan yang alami sedangkan hutan budidaya adalah hutan yang sengaja dikelola manusia yang biasanya terdiri dari satu jenis tanaman saja. Hutan rimba yang diusahakan manusia harus menebang pohon denga sistem tebang pilih dengan memilih pohon yang cukup umur dan ukuran saja agar yang masih kecil tidak ikut rusak.
